I record it then start fast-forwarding through it at about midnight or the next day so I just end up watching what I want and not some lousy boy/girl band or singer plugging their new single etc which tends to drive me to distraction. Plus there's that old annoyance of people who are all considerably richer than us telling us to dig deep! Grrrrrr. That and the fact that children seem to get money chucked at them whereas the old people of this country are forgotten about How about Oldies In Need? I used to enjoy CIN more a few years ago when ITV used to also participate, I remember a cracking 'Oliver' years ago from the Corrie lot (Chesney playing the pivotal role of course) and I really enjoyed it but nowadays ITV tend to withhold their special performances for their own Text Santa in December so now we're reliant on EE, Strictly, pop music, an Xmas Dr Who snippet etc which doesn't make for riveting viewing for a whole night hence me recording it! But yes, I will definitely be watching EE's contribution. Last year's was good IIRC but the Alan Sugar one (the year before?) was a bit of a let down to say the least!

I liked Ian's ghosts last year but I'm afraid I don't tend to enjoy their musical renditions.
I do alsp agree about people much richer than us lecturing about giving and also the lack of support for the elderly.
I do always support it in some way, even if it just buying one of their tee-shirts (bought some socks just the other day) and one year I wore teddy bear pyjamas all day at work, including to the Pub at lunch time - got nearly 400 quid for that one.
But not keen on the actual event itself, largely because I do find several of the presenters annoying and the sketches unfunny.
And I'm afraid the most annoying is Shane Ritchie (i don't hate him, i just find him irritating and rather full of himself) so hours of him presenting from Elstree doesn't really do it for me.

I'd rather stick toothpicks in my eyes than watch this self-indulgent durge. Wouldn't waste my leccy on it.
Bunch of overpaid scumbags polishing their halos whilst expecting you to put your hand in your pocket. Robbing the foolish poor was a crime back in my day. I might see it as a good thing if they actually donated a week's wages instead and practiced what they preached. Especially that hypocrite Wogan.
Charity my eye.
Charity begins at home. My home.

Agree with UQ about Wogan, couldn't believe it when I read it a few years ago that he'd been getting paid for doing the show for years! There was me (naively) believing he was standing there for hours on end without pay and thinking "what a trooper!" yet the bugger was coining it in smiley-angry

For every pound donated to make some brats life better, I'll be matching it with a contribution to make that brats life worse again.
That ought to show them.

Oh Dermot O'Leary is okay - actually quite like his presenting style - grew up not far from me - about 8 miles up the A12! Glad to hear it is nothing too serious with Terry. Not that bad pain isn't serios, it can blight your life but it could be something a lot more worrying at his age.

The RSPCA Dogs Home is the only charity that gets my coin, everybody else can go and feck themselves. I have a monthly standing order with those good people, taken directly from my bank account.
Admittedly I do drive (usually drunk) down the donkey sanctuary with the dog and feed carrots and apples to them a couple of times a week as well. Which makes the dog really jealous, especially whilst she's tied to the gate while I stroke their noses. Didn't like it either when I stopped off last week to buy them a lovely bag of turnips. Mad as hell about that she was, the jealous little sod.
As for Children in Need, sod them. Let Terry Wiggy fund the buggers, he can afford it.

Wogan gets paid for it? Seriously? How did I not know that? That's really off. Do they all get paid?
My opinion on their smug, talking down to us presenting style coaxing us into 'picking up the phone' is even lower now.

Does anybody remember when it didn't dominate the whole evening? Just used to be sections around other programmes? I remember 1983 when The 5 Doctors (Doctor Who's 20th anniversary special) and Knots Landing transmitted during it. Much better back then.

I think Shane and Peter are presenting it on BBC2 so you can watch most of BBC1. Even thouh you don't like Peter Andre have you been watching Strictly with Kellie Bright on? Don't you like Shane Richie? It says Not only will Shane host the BBC Two segment, he will also be performing on the night alongside Bonnie Langford and Richard Blackwood, as they lead a 30-strong EastEnders cast in a special Top Hat musical dance performance for BBC Children in Need. In full vintage Hollywood glamour, cast members including Gillian Tailforth, Lorna Fitzgerald, Shona McGarty and Tameka Empson will perform in the BBC Children in Need studios on Appeal night. You don't want to miss Shona, Lorna, Gillian and Tameaka performing in the studio tomorrow night do you? I haven't got anything against Peter Andre, or Shane Richie for that matter, I'm just not sufficiently interested in them to switch over to BBC2. I'll just be keeping my eye on BB1 until the big cast dance routine is on; although I wasn't too blown away by the last EE dance thing for CIN (which I think was 2013?) so I'm really hoping this year's one is an improvement. As for Strictly, I was planning to watch it this year due to Kellie Bright being on it but, for some reason, I just never got into the habit of putting it on. I did watch one ep of it on iPlayer though; the movie-themed routines and I thought Kellie's Star Wars Charleston routine was pretty good and fun to watch. She seemed to be loving every minute of it too which was nice to see.

Children In Need, what about EastEnders Viewers In Need? Why not segregate this to BBC2 or put it on Saturday nights? Yes, rich people saying how we should not let the children suffer. It is annoying than Pip Schofield interviewing people who have become homeless and urge us to help them. You have enough dosh, why not put them up in your mansion?
The EE cast dancing round Albert Square is much more talented than a lot of the acting and storylines in the actual show.
Martin Lewis should donate to them, he is a money expert and make sure his donations are paid IIIIIIN FULLLLLLL.
