The thing is, as I understand it mentoring starts quite early on in the NHS and continues right the way up and through careers. I imagine it is to develop management and people's skills right from the start. So, this souldn't have been the first time Lily has mentored somebody. She would orobably have had F1s to look after during her Core Training years. I think it is CTS mentor Foundation level, junior Regs mentor CTS. Senior Regs mentor Junior Regs or maybe CTS. Consultants mentor Senior Regs and so on.
So, as just said, Lily would already have experience and a more Senior Reg or even Junior consultant like Zoe or Dylan would still be mentoring Lily.
But part of the problem here is Lily shouldn't be a Reg yet. Wasn't watching reguarly back then but didn't she only start as a F1 about 3 years ago? Even assuming you pass all exams and rotations first time, i believe it is still a minimum of 4 years from start of F1 to completing CT2 and then you have to wait for a Reg position to become available.
Rotations. That's the other thing. Alicia shouldn't have been specialising yet, this should just have been a ED rotation so she should, i believe, have had the option just to leave that department and start a rotation on another one. She'd probably have failed that module so had to retake it before completing her F2, and maybe at a different Hospital but surely that would have been preferable to quitting all together. She will have a Dean who will work in conjunction with somebody at Holby (actually wasn't it Elliot at one stage who was chief Lecturer for the Med Students - i it was where the 'Professor' came from) as it is a Teachhing Hospital so could and should have talked to them before quitting, for her own sake and other students who might get Lily.
In fact, couldn't she have transferred to AAU to complete the module ? That is also deemed to be emergency Medicine or at least we've been told that is Raf's area of expertise and was also Lucs and Lindens.
So, none of it makes sense really.
