Did anyone watch this? There was so much hype around it here in the UK and the US, I initially thought it was some sort of reality show when I first saw the adverts . I remember watching the first two seasons on Channel 4 and being really surprised by how good it was. People at my college always raved about it and it seemed everybody was interested by the mysteries on that Island. I personally lost interest by Season 3 when it had moved to Sky, but I was encouraged to carry on watching it by a friend and because I thought it was all leading to some big WTF moment, which never quite happened. It ended with a whimper for me. There's been a lot of heated debate on DS Cult, Sci-Fi, Fantasy forum about whether the show answered all the mysteries (I had my head bitten off a few times by some hardcore fans for saying it didn't answer every question ). I think the writers too often just wrote themselves into corners and convoluted the story just for the sake of it - a lot like The X-Files in a way. What were your feelings about the show? Did you like the show from start to finish? Or did you lose interest over time?

I watched all of it, it's a shame because it could have been epic television but halfway through the writers seemed to get bored and lost interest. The characters and stories just went round in circles. The mysteries were built up so much but the end result just wasn't worth it.

I too watched every single last episode and I have to admit I was left clueless sometimes as to what was going on... I took to lurking on a lost forum where they all had different ideas but that sort of gave me some insight into what was actually happening...
I tried watching it again last year because Ome from SC was watching it and he started a thread about it... I watched the first three eps then lost interest...
I did enjoy it first time round so much so I used to watch the next ep straight after on E4 then watch it again the Sunday after... A mate in the pub after the first super ep aired speculated that they were all in purgatory... How we laughed at him... free-rolleye-smileys-323

Yeah i I have thought about watching it all again from the start, but i decided I couldn't be bothered putting myself through it. Like the love triangle between Kate, Sawyer and Jack that was dragged on and on, I cannot sit through that again. I felt it became too soapy at times too.

I have all the series on DVD and intend to watch the whole thing again at some point. Agree that it started so well and then Lost its way somewhat along the way. I still don't think I fully understood what the feck was going on towards the end.
So disappointed!

I rewatched the whole series for the first time last week. The missus was nagging me to watch it, so we watched it together every day after work... it is still confusing and silly as ever! Season 1, 2 and 4 were the best seasons - Season 6 was just awful. Many of the answers to the mysteries were just a letdown, too. Looking back, when I first watched it, I was so intrigued by all the mysteries and where it was all going. I honestly thought it was all leading to some big WTF moment. But, now, watching again with fresh eyes, it's made me realise the writers had no clue what they were doing. They were just throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticked! Shame really as I think it's still a great show in terms of character development and storytelling. But there wasn't enough of a payoff to the mysteries... The ending was just shit as well. The missus spat out her tea and laughed out loud when all the dead charaters from the Island met up in a church in the afterlife. What kind of crap ending is that?!

Still miss it though... There hasn't been anything like it since IMO... We tried watching The Dome and gave up 2 eps from the end of the first series... Yes, it was that riveting...

Still miss it though... There hasn't been anything like it since IMO... We tried watching The Dome and gave up 2 eps from the end of the first series... Yes, it was that riveting... I miss it, too. It was one of the few shows on TV that demanded your attention. I've always had a strange love/hate relationship with LOST. though. On one hand, I loved it for giving us so many fascinating characters and storylines. But, on the other hand, I hated it for stringing us along and never giving us any concrete answers! Sorta reminds me of a girl I use to date... Are you talking about Under the Dome, Chaz? That was based on a Stephen King novel, I believe. That was a god awful show.. I speak from experience. I watched all three seasons before it was cancelled. But you're right... there hasn't been anything like it since. So many shows have tried copying the magic of LOST, but have failed completely. The list is endless. There's even a new TV show called Manifest - which plagiarises the entire premise of LOST. This is the synopsis: When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. Yet in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they're all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible. From Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Jeff Rake and Jackie Levine comes an emotionally rich, unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart and destiny.A missing plane? Sound familiar?! It is a complete rip-off of LOST. And it is absolutely underwhelming just like all the other LOST rip-offs.

Didn't see any point in making a new thread, so I'll just post this here. I just watched The I-Land on Netflix... it is such a shameless rip-off of LOST that I actually laughed out loud. The writers make no attempt to hide it! I don't know why they keep trying to copy LOST... And what's worse is, the show is bloody awful. The storytelling is atrocious and predictable. The characters are a bunch of sociopathic jerks. If anybody is looking for a show to "hate-watch" - then The I-Land is for you. Here's the synopsis: When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are and how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home, only to discover the world is not as it seems. It's like "LOST for Dumb People".
