Seems EE has gone back to centering just round the square and Bridge Street, The Archers, and maybe The Albert.
15 years ago the video shop, chippy, Giuseppe's, the nightclub, the terrace in George Street were seen regularly. George Street was first seen in 1994 and was used a lot, I remember Kool 4 Kutz and Ted Hills hardware store. Apart from Billy, we never see the residents of the terrace.
We never ever see the apartments next to the tube and once in a blue moon see the chemist.

I don't watch it but are they not building another set...? So could they be de-constructing the old set...?

No the deconstruction is not the reason. George St and Turpin road have not been featured heavily for a number of years now.

Was one of the last times George Street was used regularly, when Hev got her head smashed in by Billy Elliott?
I may be wrong but didn't Kat and Alfie live in George Street at some point?

In 2013, I did take a trip to Borehamwood and walked round the perimeter of the EE set and could see the Arghee Bhajee and the terrace, plus Phil's house and the top of the Vic, No 5 and car lot etc.

Hev's flat is by the funeral parlour?
I think the problem is filling all those shops and flats with people. Characters cost money.
