I have this book, they use old pics of cast members to dub as their on screen characters. Ena Sharples aged 5 with long hair.
It documents all residents of Coronation Street pre 1960, going back to 1902. Since then they have been mentioned in the show itself like when Roy mentioned Charlie Corbishley, the first landlord of the Rovers.
Also it mentions names which are now that of current characters like Battersby and Tinker. In the 1800s a Tommy Tinker from London lived in Weatherfield, maybe he was Beth's ancestor, and she has Cockney blood in her veins.

I would love to meet Daran Little, then I can ask him many questions as he said he watched every episode from 1960 through to 1989ish when he became archivist. Watching every ep from 1960 to say April 1976 is a bonus as you can only do that at the studios as many have not be repeated since their original broadcast.
I wonder if many of the dialogues given in Wethy Life was from the show itself. The show itself is the best archive ATEOTD. (at the end of the day).

CAEF... If I ever met Daran Little, the first question i`d ask him would be if he is going to write a sequel to 'East Street' the CIN special a few years ago. I thought that was brilliant.

Not just Weatherfield Life but a book on Coronation Street from around the 25th anniversary gives a lot of info. Not the actual 25th anniversary book with month by month synopsis's of major stories but a paperback one.
Stan Ogden's mother Mary's maiden name was Pearson according to the book and Leonard Franklin Fairclough's mother was Grace Franklin.
Stan Ogden's mothers maiden name is the same as Annie Sugden's maiden name in Emmerdale. Pearson. And Annie's dad Sam was a regular character.
