Weird episode in parts, I thought we'd at least hear Cain telling Belle and Sam about Zak but instead it cut to OTT music? It spoiled it a bit for me and took me out of the scene so I didn't feel involved. I didn't mind the music being used as he went round to tell the rest but you thought we'd have heard him telling the first ones surely? Look how many had to be told too! Shows just how much the Dingle's have taken over this soap.
Chas. It wasn't even her dad but we just had to have a scene with her away from the rest of the Dingles. Not downplaying her relationship with her Uncle but it looked to me like just another excuse for them to push their favourite, that said I ended up quite enjoying her scene with Liam.
It was a sad episode but I didn't fill up never mind cry and I fully expected to. Though if as rumoured the dreaded, dour, dispicable Debbie turns up that'll have me wailing on the floor lol!
Maybe I'll feel it more in tonight's episode.

I enjoyed it and I must admit I welled up a bit... Brought back memories of when my old man popped his clogs... When they were all gathered outside and Eric appeared... There's supposed to be a tree planted in that area to commemorate the actor Steve...

More trashing of poor old Shaddie again when he was said to be vicious and nasty. I guess he did mellow by the time he arrived in 2000.

I realised last night that this is also the actors saying goodbye to Steve so that's quite emotional. I know by the time they filmed it they had months to come to terms with it but it must have brought those initial feelings back to them as Steve seems to have been quite loved by the cast and crew. Trust Zak to want to be buried in the garden! Very olde worlde. And of course you need permission for that kind of thing but the Dingle's will completely ignore that Let's hope he won't be buried where he can pollute a water supply or whatever.

Not surprised Debbie didn't come back. Probably a guilty conscience. No doubt sick of Zak living with her and poisoned him. If she can help kill Gennie then what's another Dingle.
When Lisa died did they have her laid out in the pub and demand donations from everyone. Or is that tradition just for blood Dingles.
So many people missing from the funeral. Mack and Rhona especially not supporting their spouses.

Was that just a one off for the not the real Tina Dingle...? Or do TPTB wait to see the reaction from the masses on Social Media...?

I was half expecting Tina to arrive with her son who is 27, born summer of 1997, and in late 1996 Tina was bonking Frank Tate, or he was bonking her.

How old is Vinny meant to be. Bradley Johnson was born summer of 97. We don't know who his mother is and since Mandy and Tina were in contact all these years Although if Vinny was Tina and Frank's son making him a Tate would the fact that he's currently in a relationship with his nephews mother also make him a proper Dingle. And how would that affect Gabby. To have had Jamie, Nicky and Vinny. Two brothers and their nephew!

Thurs: That was a nice episode. Very 'Dingle'. Howled at them transporting his coffin around in that old van Again I didn't get upset (don't know what's wrong with me, I can cry at an advert) but I smiled a lot at e.g. his old van, marvelling at how the hell that thing got to Aberdeen and back, his coffin sitting in the pub, his old music on constant play, Bob singing Ilkley Moor Bar t'at, Sam banging the big drum etc. It was unconventional, quite joyful in a way and was more personal and said more about the deceased than a traditional funeral - a lot cheaper too! Even the flowers were just picked from the garden/fields. Thought the PC Swirling saluting was a nice touch too even though he conveniently never asked where Zak was being planted - 'country' policing. Could have done without Tina who didn't bear any kind of resemblance to the old one. It was like a whole new character. No offence to the actress but she looked too old for the role, Tina was supposed to be born in 78 yet, to me, she looked in her 50s. Has she been on crack?

I might be wrong but... I think the playlist was actually the actors own... It would be nice to think so...

OK, THAT one got to me. Very emotional and a lovely way to end the week. It was perfect, his 3 kids raising a toast and talking, all about love and family and who's going to replace him. Then hearing his voice and all flash backs Reminded me of me and my brothers at my dad's funeral. Me and two older brothers (though we were only 25, 23 and 20) sat up all night reminiscing and drinking too. And of course one the 23 at the time brother is no longer with us either. Sometimes things just resonate with you don't they? Great episode.

The flashbacks and then him eventually speaking really was a nice touch... It was also nice to see some other long lost faces like Butch & Seth... Well done Emmy, well done take a bow...
