Emmerdale was soap of the week. Some lovely touches and some stellar performances, a great ensemble. The only thing that goes against the grain is that the Dingles have been turned into the first family of Emmerdale, when we all know who it should be!

When Annie Sugden died we just got a small scene of Victoria collecting the ashes and a plant dedicated to her. Whereas with Spack Dingle, we got a week of tributes to him.

Surprised she hasn't tried to force John to accept half of them to get to know his grandmother How many of the characters would have known Annie compared to Zak though. Unless you wanted to watch an episode of Victoria muttering away to Harry then Fridays scenes of Cain, Sam and Belle couldn't have been done either |

Well there you go. As far as we knew Vinnie was Mandy's exes child who she took custody of (can't remember how now, was he in prison?). So far so good but there was never a hint that his ex was Tina Dingle. No hint that she'd got with her cousin's ex and taken on HER child too, never a word spoken even when he was on the show. Never been any acknowledgement that Mandy and Vinnie are related by blood not just a quasi adoption. No hints that Vinnie was/is a bona fide Dingle and Zak's grandson. It's almost like they've just made it up on a fag packet in the pub And what makes mouth-almighty Tina Dingle think that Vinnie would want anything to do with her. He's pretty loyal to Mandy and I hope it stays that way though he might be justly annoyed that the Dingles are his blood family and she kept that info from him ... Poor Ruby, I actually feel for her. She's so isolated with just Caleb really now her kids have both gone (when are we meeting Sharon?) and has now found out just how much he's lied to her, how much he can't be trusted. Other women she might be able to overlook but this? |

At least Vinnie cannot be Frank Tate's son as he was born c2001. He was established to be Paul Ashdale's.
The identity of his mother was never 100% established until Tina Dingle mentioned he was hers. However there was not a single ref that he was Tina's and that he was adopted by his mother's cousin.
Vinnie is kind of the Gordon Clegg or Ashley Peacock of Emmerdale.

Different mum from Aaron, same dad and I think the surname was Livesy? They didn't have sex because she was asexual. Or summat. |
