Did anyone notice that the old man with the dog that he gave away, Alan Swann, was played by Ken Barlow's younger brother in Corrie. He hasn't worn as well as Ken.

This is just my opinion . Doctors is the best soap on TV by a long chalk. There is a massive cliffhanger at the moment , hopefully coming to a climax today and I CAN'T WAIT!

One gripe about the show is they need to reduce the number of patients with a dead body in the closet and ones who are nutters.

Why couldn't they move it to BBC2? Exactly HoleyD. Or even put it on iPlayer. Not all of us are sports fans

Anyone watch this week's episodes? All I can say is fantastic storyline . Lucy-Jo Hudson was amazing. What an actress. ( Tyrones's wife- no, not Fiz. His real wife)
This soap deserves an evening slot.
Some say that Corrie and EE's standards have dropped because of the number of episodes a week. Well, Doctors run 5 episodes and can maintain a fanatically high standard of storylines, production and acting. It can be done. They do it. I didn't think they could better the Treehouse story but they have with this one about the murder of a baby by her mother. Had the viewers on tenterhooks all week.
This is how it should be done. If you didn't watch this week then IPlayer it. You won't be sorry . Well, you will be sorry at the story but not sorry you caught up with it.

I caught up on episodes this morning Lou. I had to catch up because with more storms and flood warnings in the area here, I thought we might lose electricity. And if we did, it could be days or even weeks before we got it back with all the devastation around here. And with iPlayer eps coming to an end this Thursday, I had to literally force myself to watch because the scenes were just so heartbreaking. I have been in floods of tears.....my tissue box is nearly empty. I always knew Lucy-Jo Hudson was a smashing actress - the Doctors episodes just confirmed it. I predict a wonderful future for Lucy-Jo. I don`t think that Valerie is leaving. if she was, she wouldn`t be in the character scenes at the beginning of Doctors would she. I would really love it if Doctors was shown from the very first episode. Then I could catch up on all the wonderful characters in the past. I just started watching it when Julia was going through her psychosis caused by encephalitis or whatever its called. That was in 2009.

Thanks HoleyD luv. It`s really bad here, but at least we still have electricity. The same can`t be said for thousands in my county and beyond. Its really heartbreaking....made more so by thieving swines looting what little homeowners have left.

Writing and acting. What a note to end their summer break on. Did you know that Lucy-Jo is Tyrones's wife in real life. They split up but have got back together again. She had a fling with her co-star partner in that story.

I agree Lou. It was heartbreaking. The acting, and writing was superb- none better. You could tell a lot of research went into those episodes. I knew ABout Lucy-Jo and Alan Halsall being married, and temporarily splitting up Lou. But I had no idea that she had a fling with her co star in Doctors. Wow. I`m glad they`ve reconciled, it shows they have maturity. I don`t understand why the Mill is suddenly having money problems - hence the reason why Daniel wants to get rid of Valerie. After all Mrs Tembe left her position as receptionist, and she departed for a few months only to return as practice manager. So there definitely was a vacancy for Mrs T`s old job. Plus they had money for refurbishments and installing a touch screen for patients. Not to mention enough money to paint Mrs T`s office and to have that extra space installed for an additional reception towards the back where the patients files used to be. It was money well spent on Mrs T`s office though as I hated that awful green colour that Howard chose for the walls. The blue is much nicer. LOL.

Any other time Doctors would be back tomorrow after Wimbledon. But instead they`re showing an Irish soap Red Rock until after the August bank Holiday. What a huge slap in the face to Doctors fans. Shame on you BBC. I`ve watched a bit of Red Rock, and I can`t say I`m too impressed so far.
