I think this week's episode worked so well was because it was characters like Dom, Diggers, Zosia and Ollie that we all care about.

Yes i have to agree. I'm really only interested in the regular characters as opposed to the patients and their problems.
Ollie has the most gorgeous eyes. When they showed him close up, it reminded me of that snake in the Jungle Book hypnotising Mowgli He certainly had me under his spell. No wonder Zosia is smitten

So no Holby City for two weeks either? I can`t find any spoilers for it anywhere. It was a superb episode last night. Poor Arthur.....looks like his days are numbered. What a shame, I`ve always liked him. And no more Mister T either. I`m gutted about that too. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Holby's certainly on next week, there's an interview in IS with Arfedson about Zosia's role in the episode.
Last night's was quite emotional - Arthur dying is really hard going and I'm glad Mr T finally told Mo some home truths - I've been saying that she treats him (and quite a lot of people actually) badly for years. She's quite a selfish person really.

Damn you Holby killing off Digby ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) So young, so nice, so clever and useful he can save lives FGS yet is losing his ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) I wonder if the actor wanted to go or if they're writing him out? I've never really taken to Morwena but that scene where Digby told her was very moving. Dom and Digby though, as much as Morwena's scenes moved me those two just finished me off Very careless of Serena with that laptop. Hansen is unshakeable isn't he? No matter what he gets told he never loses it, never panics. I wish I was more like him lol! Glad Mo was finally put in her place, I always thought she was nearly as infuriating as Adele at times. MrT telling her she's a hurtful person whose just in it for her was a pleasure to watch in an otherwise overwrought episode. Good old Dom - "I thought you looked like a cross between Harry Potter and some disgruntled rodent"

I remember my Mum, without prompting, about 2009, saying how amazingly well they had handled the turnaround on Jac. I asked her what she meant and she said "I hated her, she was awful, hurting Joseph, sleeping with his Dad, harassing, virtually stalking Faye when she had a sick child, but now I'm completely on her side and feel more for her than anybody else in the show".
They've done a similar thing with Dominic, almost by stealth. He was a dreadful person when he arrived, lying about Malick to the GMC, being a nightmare with Digby but he has got sympathetic (whilst keeping an edge), partly through meeting his parents but mostly through his relationship with Digby. Which is why, even though of course, Digby dying it tragic for Digby it is almost more tragic for Dom.
I agree that I've never bought into Digby and Morven. Always felt rushed and she remains a character I feel I should like and sympathise with, i find it hard to. I mean, i've understood the situation with her Dad, but I haven't really cared. Bur for the first time, that cry when Digby told her he was dying before their wedding - I cared. But not as much as for Dom or Zosia - or even Hansenn or Sacha who willfind losing him hard.

Morven that's her name (you can tell how invested I am in her can't you? lol!)
Speaking of who, I thought it was a bit weird that she didn't go with Diggers when he told his parents. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining as I love Dig and Dom scenes, but you'd have thought he'd have taken his new wife along to meet his parents as well as telling them the devastating news - unless he's taking her at another date and wanted them to get their heads around the fact he's dying before he sprung a new wife on them too. Be a shame if the first time they meet is at his funeral though.
Can't have a very close relationship with his parents though if he hasn't even told them he is very seriously ill before now. He made them sound quite cold and all about education, education, education but still ...

Just caught up with Holby, was a few episodes behind. I thought it was very moving with Hanssen and Diggers. I was crying in the last episode, goodness knows what I will be like on Tuesday. Love the character of Jason, so funny, being able to say whatever you think and getting away with it. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I like the edition of Bernie to the show. Serena and Bernie work well together. Holby is streets ahead of its older sister.

I couldn`t agree more to all of the above HoleyD ♥ I`ve liked and admired Jemma Redgrave since her 'Bramwell' days, so she is an excellent addition to the cast. And she fitted in so seamlessly don`t you think? Its like Dr Bernie Wolfe has been there for years. Even through all the sadness of Athur, I still laughed out loud at poor Dom feeling the wrath of Mr Hanssen yet again. I`m grinning now just thinking about it when Dom made that comment about Mr Hanssen`s middle name being Louis but pronounced Love on his stethoscope, and then Mr Hanssen within earshot (as always) ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Thanks Lou. Last nights Holby City had the most heartbreaking scenes I`ve ever witnessed. And it was all so beautifully acted. How wonderful it was to see Ethan from Casualty. He`s been my fave from day one. (I still live in hope the docs got the results wrong and his brother Cal has Parkinson's disease instead). My heart literally broke in two for Morven last night. A young beautiful girl with so much tragedy and heartache. I hope she finds comfort in the coming months working at the hospital that Arthur loved so much. She`s a great doctor and very dedicated. There was one scene there that I didn`t really understand. It as when Arthur was wandering around the hospital in his hospital gown and his feet were all wet with water lapping around him. Then later Arthur was wearing shoes. What was the significance? Was it to show that Arthur was at the beach in his Heaven scenes?

Lou....I just checked the Radio Times online schedule, and it seems that stupid football is on next week and the week after. But I see that EastEnders is still on. heaven forbid they should tick off the EE fans. They have no problem with ticking off the Casualty, Holby City, and Doctors fans though. smiley-angry www.radiotimes.com/tv/tv-listings?sd=14-06-2016%2020:00

Last night's episode was a really brilliant piece of television. Absolutely heartbreaking of course, but they balanced it out more than wonderfully with what might be one of my favourite and funniest Holby moments ever in that dance sequence. Getting Ric and Hanssen involved was genius.
Dom and Digby already had me welling up but I think it was Digby and Hanssen's scene in his office that really set me off - Rob Ostlere and Guy Henry played it so beautifully and it's so rare to see Hanssen as anything other than the magnificent looming authority figure. The sight of him cradling Digby and telling him everything would be alright completely and utterly broke me.
And then to top it all off we had Zosia's reaction and Jac immediately rushing to comfort her. Just thinking about all the little moments is enough to set me off again.
