Hanssen has to be the coolest character on British tv. Guy Henry plays the character to perfection. I don't how they all keep a straight face. They must have a lot of fun filming. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Add me as another huge Hannssen fan. The way he used to creep behind Dom when Dom was talking about him always had me in fits of laughter - even during the tragic Arthur scenes. I really don`t think there is anyone I dislike in Holby. There are a few in Casualty - but not Holby. I would love love love love it if Elliot came back for the Casualty/Holby crossover. When an entrance that would be!!! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Just a quick recap on who Jasmine is and history as we know it.
Soon after Jac came in back in 2006 we learnt that she had been brought up in Care but never got any details until 2010 when her Mum showed up in severe kidney failure although she claimed she didn't know why she was feeling sick. From that we learnt that Paula Burrows (Jac's Mum) had abandoned Jac when Jac was 12 years old and as she had no other family she was taken into care, too old and troublesome to be adopted, plus they didn't know if Paula would come back at some stage, she went from foster home to foster home with some spells in care homes interspersed until she was no longer the systems responsibility at which point she changed her name to Naylor (her Grandmother's maiden name) as she wanted no reminders of her Mum. She had no contact with her mum from when she was 12, till her showing up as a patient approx 25 years later.
After a while, with some persuasion from Joseph, Michael and Sacha, jac agreed to donate a kidney to her Mum and they began to bond with jac letting her stay at her flat as they recovered from the transplant operation and planning to buy a bigger home for them both.
One day Jac went out to pick up some different drugs for Paula and when she got back, Paula had gone. Jac rang the taxi company using 1471 and got the address she'd gone to which was her dead Granddad's home. On her way there, her wound became infected so she rang Michael for help who went with her to the house. Once there she discovered that her Granddad wasn't dead, he and Paula had argued and in a fit of spite she'5 told jac he was dead, and him she was taking jac to India with her so jac had spent years in care when she actually had a grandparent that would have looked after her. He didn't know about it until Paula turned up with kidney failure announcing Jac was a Doctor. So, she turned up at Holby purely to manipulate jac into giving up her kidney and then leaving again. Halfway through this conversation, a teenaged girl walked in asking her Mum who Jac was. Jasmine. So, after dumping jac, Paula had another daughter who she kept with her and raised and told nothing of Jac to.
Jac left, went into septic shock and had to be operated on again. Jasmine followed them to the Hospital wanting to meet her and Michael said she was 17 and hadn't known about Jac but jac was too hurt to be prepared to meet her so as far as we knew jasmine went back to India with Paula.
Paula turned up 2 years ago, again sick and turned out to have lung cancer. She died a few weeks later having done several more things to hurt jac again and jac did ask about Jasmine, why she wasn"t dumped and Paula basically replied that Jasmine had been easy to love, jac hadn't so making it out that the fault lied in jac. She is just unlovable and it wasn't Paula's fault. We weren't told where Jasmine was at that time though, why she wasn't visiting her Mother and Paula was apparently homeless with neither Jasmine or her Dad to help her.
Then she turned up a couple of weeks ago.
So, sisters that don't each other through no fault of their own and probably been ed up in different ways by Paula. Though Jac is bound t be jealous or resentful that Jasmine wasn't dumped, that she was the one that was loved enough to be kept.

Wow that was an amazing read. Thanks so much kitkat - it must have taken ages to type out, and I really appreciate it. So do you think Jasmine is at Holby for some kind of revenge, or do you think that she genuinely wants to reconcile with her sister now that their Mother has been dead for some time? Perhaps deep down Jasmine wants to have Jacs respect considering she chose a medical profession like her sister. And Jasmine does seems to have a more bubbly personality than Jac. But that could be Jasmine`s way of integrating herself with Jac`s colleagues.

No problem. Jac is one of my favourite characters in any series of all time and i must have watched those episodes at least a dozen times in the last 5 years so it rolled off the fingers!
I don't know, time will tell but going from her having followed Jac to the Hospital all those years ago (probably with her Mum trying to stop her) and how she looked at Jac's photo in her first episode (sort of smiling and not in a nasty way) and said she thought Jac would approve of her having shown guts and saved that guys life even though she wasn't supervised, plus that she does seem like a basically nice girl, i'd say she will want to build a relationship rather than having any revenge in mind. But it might depend on what Paula told her about Jac after she learnt of her existence - Paula was very good at reeling people in and twisting things to make herself look good, misunderstood and a victim.
I do think her not being around when Paula was dying could be telling though. Of course the real world answer is they didn't want to complicate that storyline with Jasmine's presence or properly introduce the character at that point and of course Paula might just have wanted to spare her the upset of seeing her die so not contacted her...but you'd think if they were that close, close enough for Jas to have believed any lies she told about Jac Eben knowing she'd dumped her and got back in touch only to steal her kidney, then yo_kd think she'd have come especially as we now know she must have been studying quite nearby
So, I'd summise, that maybe she turned her back on Paula after that, just went off to University and got on with her own life which might also be why Paula seemed determined to cause trouble for Jac again - she gave money to Jonny to fund his custody case to prove Jac an unfit mother and lose Emma only hours after meeting him - i mean he could have been he could have been violent*, abusive, anything - she didn't know him from Adam and yet she decided to help him get custody of her granddaughter. What reason could she have for that except to hurt Jac yet again and maybe she blamed losing Jasmine's love on Jac?
So, I'd hope that she does want to be friends or sisters - jac's had enough people gunning for her. Also, Jasmine sounds lonely too due to Paula's nomadic lifestyle when she was growing up. But clearly she's not as damaged as Jac though there are signs of some issues - bad taste in men (married, older, possibly controlling), willingness to use her attractiveness to get ahead, somewhat tactless.
If anything i think the conflict will come from Jac not being willing (or scared) to let her guard down and give her a chance, or perhaps resenting her for not being the one that was dumped or "only good for spare parts" (an actual quote from when Jac found out what Paula had come back for) so will push her away, being horrible to her.

I was so happy to watch Holby City tonight....and yay another HC episode on Thursday. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Guy has never been my fave character, but my goodness my heart went out to him tonight. What a disgusting woman his Mother is. She doesn`t deserve the title of Mother. LOL kitkat....another dig at Jac from Olly amid more flirting with Jasmin. His face will be an actual picture when he finds out Jasmine is related to Jac. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

It`s gotten to the point now where I look forward to Holby City now mostly because of Mr Hannsen. He really makes the show for me. But I do like the majority of the people on there. It was a masterstroke in my opinion bringing in Gemma Redgrave. She has fitted in seamlessly to the show. Its like she`s been at Holby for years.

Another good Holby City episode despite Mr Hannsen not being there last night. Zosha must be off her meds. I hope she gets the help she needs. It was lovely to see Jac show her compassionate side.

Wonderful episode last night about Dermot's wedding and outcome ! Hansen was his usual wonderful self and the climax of Mo having her baby in a water bath with Derwood's help and their declaration of love brought a lump to my throat. Telling him the baby was his too!!! I wonder if Ellie will live ? I felt for Serena.

I agree Lou...it was an excellent show last night. Poor Serena, I really felt so sorry for her last night. I really don`t think Ellie will survive Lou, she didn`t have much brain function towards the end of the show. Even Bernie didn`t think she`d survive as she asked Serena about organ donation. Welcome to the word baby Charlie...you have two wonderful parents. I loved Mr T`s Mother fancying Mr Hanssen. LOL Mr H`s face when he got in that tiny car. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I can`t wait for next week`s show.

Interview with Joe McFadden in this weeks Inside Soap. He mentions that a few people will be leaving over the coming months. Anybody care to speculate who?
I think my likeliest candidates are Zosia and Oliver. Maybe Fletch although I think Wilkinshaw tends to be a long termer. I'm also suspicious about Jac as I have doubts Rosie Marcel would return should she have a second baby. Not that I'm aware of a pregnancy, but it wouldn't surprise me if she were to have another one.

I'm guessing one of them is Morvin. I don't know why I think that. Perhaps it's because in last night's show she was talking about moving on in her life by letting Arthur go.

I know he's not a regular character, but I hope Isaac is leaving. The way he treats Dom is disgusting. I wasn't moved by his tears one bit last night. It was self pity tears. The way he was sucking up to Mr Hanssen in the OT had me cringing. I'm so glad Mr H could see through him.

Isaac only has recurring status and has clearly only been brought in for this abuse storyline so will be gone once that's done. I think we have a couple months of it left to go first though. Of course, Dom might leave at the end of it.
I really think that Zosia and Ollie are about done now.
Really, all Zosias long term story arcs have reached s natural end. All her plots have concentrated on her BiPolar, Daddy issues, grief over her Mother, Surgery or Psychiatry and love traumas.
Her BiPolar is diagnosed and under control, we've seen one relapse, not a great message re being able to have a relatively normal life providing you stay on the Meds and talk to people if she keeps relapsing. She and Guy resolved their issues and parted on good terms. She's decided on CT as her speciality and is doing well. She and Ollie are recently reconciled and loved up...
Either they need to take her in.a completely new direction with new storylines and angst, probably splitting her and Ollie up again, for good this time, or they need to write her out.
Oliver was only brought back to coveroff Rosie Marcels maternity leave 2 years ago but they asked him to stay beyond that 6 month contract when they saw how popular the Zollie romance was. So, if she goes, I think he will too.
Morven is a possibility storyline wise. Essie never seems to do much, I'm not sure they really have a handle on her character. Plus, with Lofty and Donna back, they'll have a lot of senior nurses.

Does anyone know when Isaac gets his comeuppance? It`s past overdue. Well done Marc Elliot for playing such a convincing character that makes me loathe him more than any other character on Holby City. A perfect scenario would be Mr Hanssen overhearing Isaac being vile, and gives him his marching orders in front of everyone. Isaac loves humiliating people, so I would love to see him getting a taste of his own medicine.
