The brick through the Blades' window was my favourite part . Just as Aunt Babe was talking about a fresh start - a brick flies in .

Just too bad it never smacked Dean's head, rebounded and clocked Shirley's Maybe next time! Zig and Zag! They were awesome! There's actually a hilarious thread on DS at the moment debating which forum poster threw the brick . Here's the link: forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2067850

Good grief!! Humour on DS? In this day and age? I'm truly astonished. (How long before it's locked or moved to The Games Room? )

Only a matter of time before it gets moved to the Games Room sadly . I'm going to enjoy myself while I still can, though! Anyway, who enjoyed Phil getting one over on Max ? Phil should've taken his pride and joy away - his penis .

You're asking for a scolding from Sorcha now That was a clever move on Phil's part (yeah, I know, "clever" and "Phil" sound weird together!) DVO ruined it for me with her non-acting though...

Vaslav got four votes I bet iMatt did it and framed poor Vas! iMatt's more of a torch-the-Vic-and-revel-in-Mick-and-Linda's-torturous-demise kind of guy. He'd then make a thread slagging Mick off for not being a 'proper man' and putting out the fire or something.

Denise Van Outen did have the privilege of being called a tart by Phil . At least that's something!

His name should've been Lord Vold-iMatt or Snivellus (except he was nowhere near as cool as Voldy or Snape!)

I can't find much sympathy for Shirley. Yes she has had it harder than most, yes she had a miserable childhood and has a pretty pointless miserable existence now, but there is nothing to like about her, no redeeming qualities. Shirley and Buster are well suited. I wish they would do us all a favour and find another caravan in Clacton or Ramsgate or where ever it is down Sowth and stay there taking Dean O with them. Nothing against Linda Henry who is a fine actor, but even she must get a bit fed up of playing the same scenes day in day out and having to play such a hard faced miserable cow. I am sure she longs for her scenes with Hev. I know I do! I thought Sam Womack was excellent tonight. I love how she just under plays her scenes. Getting a bit fed up of the Carters, although it was nice to have a normal family scene with them. It is how they were when they first moved to the square. 7/10 Womack is an excellent actress, you're right generally she underplays scenes (very well) which means that when she does unleash it (like when Danielle died or she killed Carl) it is much more powerful. I'm afraid i can never summon up much sympathy for Shirley either. Yes she has had a couple of really horrible twists of fate happen to her, being forced to give up her baby byt an unsympathetic, possibly emotionally abusive mother and then having her 'second chance' at motherhood go wrong when Jimbo was born sick. But most of her other problems are self inflicted. She resents others for having money and nice things (her rant about Ian not 'deserving' his restaurant just before she managed to set it alight) but she has never properly worked at anything - even when she had businesses handed to her on a plate like the Cafe or Vic. She has repeatedly chosen to walk away from friends of family, prioritizing other things (men usually) when things got difficult from being a teenager right through to her 50s. She chooses to jump into bottles. She chooses to snarl at people and lord what little power she has over them rather than trying to be pleasant and get on. She chooses to blackmail people (emotionally and literraly) to get what she wants or as some form of punishment. Basically, yes she has had some tough breaks which were beyond her control (though many in the show have had tougher, Ronnie for example) but she has reacted to them all in a destructive way, destructive to herself and others which makes it bloody hard to like or sympathise with her.
