I was never a fan of Kim's, but after tonight I think she's now one of my favourite characters. Not least because she's speaking out against CarterEnders. Unlike Deluded Dee, Kim and Patrick actually understand that Dean's no innocent little boy who needs protecting. They see him for what he is, hence Kim's uncomfortable around him. And let's face it, having Shirl at your house can't be a great experience either! yes. Kim is one of the best things about EE right now, partly because it is so unexpected. I used to detest her, I would cringe whenever she came jiggling onto the screen. The only good thing was the facial expressions Denise would pul in response to her antics. But this new more grown up (though still recogniseable as the former version) Kim is great. It is appalling the way the Carters have just $oved in - especially as it is no longer a B+B. Dean, despite the rape issues is understandable as he was Denise's stepson and they were close. But Shirley and now Buster, Tina moving in and Babe thinking she can visit whenever she wishes is far too much. Why do i suspect that Buster shoving some notes in her hand means he thinks they can do whatever they want, it is 'their' house now with the benefit of live in servants.

I love Kim coming into her own on EE. I think I'm in a minority in that I've either always liked her or not minded her (I remember laughing my head off at the drunken CCTV footage of her in the Minute Mart a few years ago ). She's definitely a more grown up Kim but she still hasn't lost her 'Kimness' which she showed by the catwalking around the market showing off her baby, lol! Not surprised she was pissed off at the Carter invasion, which brings me to .... The entitlement of Shirley Carter. I don't know how she has to cheek to sit there and expect to be bought out for something she emotionally blackmailed her way into. What an utter bitch. What's more BABE expects her to be bought out too! The pair of them are unbelievable. Like I've just said on WW it's pretty clear now that it wasn't just her name on the licence but I still want to know if it was a share of the business and/or the building?! Either way Mick wants to be totally ashamed of himself for what he's got him and Linda into as, just like his rancid mother, he wasn't above using emotional blackmail to get Linda to agree. I hope he's realised now what with the rape and Shirley turning Judas regarding his 'gift' of home/place of work to Shirley just how much he had Shirley on a pedestal at the expense of his wife (and kids, he was giving away their inheritance). If Shirley was any kind of moralistic woman she'd be taking her name off as licencee (without all that Flashdance malarky) but also signing her 'share' away without expecting anything in return. But this is Shirley who has only ever got anything via the generosity or stupidity of others and has a sense of entitlement like no other. She's got another walking wallet now with Buster by the looks of things. Well Phil's certainly got his own back on Max hasn't he? Can't help but think he deserves it but I'm also surprised at how easily he was taken in. And don't even get me started on the Carters totally overtaking Denise, Kim and Patrick's home as if they own the place

I certainly enjoyed Kim calling Ian, Phil and Donna bringer-downers, I hope she continues to use that label for them.

I'm afraid I can't be happy about seeing Max brought down. Okay, he was low using Ben for his revenge (though Ben is an adult) and in this case, Phil wasn't actually to blame for Emma's death but Phil has done so much over the years that he hasn't faced punishment for and it is as much a storygoround as Kat and Aflie splitting and reconciling - Phil is brought low at Xmas, sent to Prison or disappeared by his birthday, couple of months away, turf war for a couple of weeks and then Phil 'wins' and is King of the Square again. It's tiresome.

You can see why Shirley went for Phil now can't you - he an Buster seem very similar in outlook and temperament as well as looks.
As i said, Buster (and Shirley) will I'm sure think that him shoving 'rent' over to Denise expects them to have free reign over the entire house, what to watch on tv, inviting people round, who gets the bathroom when, Shirley being allowed to smoke even if Kim wants Pearl in the room etc, etc

I'd certainly wrestle back the remote control - that's mine in our house and no one else gets a look in Contracts should be drawn up if necessary. Just give them a not so gentle reminder that they're welcome to stay but it's not their house, there are rules and they better not forget. Oh and if Aunt Babe wants to cook a meal in MY kitchen I want to be notified 24 hours in advance to make sure it's convenient. That old boot would have boot marks on her arse from when I kicked her out! She shouldn't be upset about upsetting her 'friend' Shirley because Shirley is letting her family run rough shod over Denise's home and friend wouldn't do that. In fact if it was me (and I was desperate like she is for money) I'd be pinning up 'Rules of the House' and NO SMOKING signs to remind them! As someone said on Walford Web they really did treat Denise like she was 'the help' and it wasn't nice to watch.

Yes, there was definately a 'the help' vibe. Not only do they think they can all stay there, they think that Denise should get the food they want in, cook it for them.
If i were her i'd get the B+B status back. That way they'd have set rates for the rooms and also wouldn't it be designated non smoking in communal areas as it is a business? Yes she'd be 'serving' them but at least it would be on an official footing and limits as to what they could expect from her. They wouldn't just be able to take over the kitchen for one thing.
Denise Van Outen can't act for toffee can she.

Much better episode tonight, and as a none Kat Dan I am looking forward now to how her story progresses over this week.
Love Babe, she's refreshingly evil and there seems to be nothing she would to so she can get her own way.

"You're Kat Slater, Kat Slater don't say no."
I don't know why but I laughed out loud at that.

Poor Kat.
She's another one that doesn't handle her problems well. She should have got therapy years ago - it is fa from a cure all but i'm sure it would have helped her a little. She makes the same mistake again and again as a reaction to trouble and can be unnecessarily nasty for no good reason (I detest the way she speaks to Tamwar) but remains much more sympathetic than somebody like Shirley.
Max was nasty in the extreme, but sadly when you get a reputation like Kat's and als have been on the receiving end of her flirting, that kind of thing is likely to happen. Another horrible aftermath of 'shagdunnit'. You can't really play the storyline with her flirting with multiple men so any one of them being her possible lover without having at least one of those men getting the wrong idea about having a chance with her or her having loose morals.
One quibble, if Alfie always turned a profit selling any old tat, why were they always broke?!

Well it's the old joke, a psychiatrist setting up in Walford would make a killing. There are a lot of characters who need therapy but never get it. I hope ole this storyline becomes the end of Kats abuse though, it will hopefully give her some closure so she can move on.

That episode was by no means earth shattering but it was one of the better episodes this month.
Stacey and Whitney were the highlight of the episode. I generally enjoy Whitney a lot more when she is actually enjoying herself and isn't at that insufferable whining she is known for. I hope their bond isn't just a plot device to get Stacey with Martin. But I won't hold my breath after Stacey's two minute friendship with Shabnam. Which was so obviously a plot convenience so that Shabnam's secret could reveal her (underwhelming) secret.
I was really hoping that Max would win the feud because I'm fed up of Phil lording it all over everyone. Unfortunately whenever Phil is involved the same repetitive crap is regurgitated. Sharon really needs to leave him as he brings out the worst in her. The writing has improved somewhat for Sharon but her association with Phil is dragging her down.
I used to be a massive fan of Kat back in the day and I mean massive. It is a shame that anytime it seems that Kat is finally able to move on from her sexual abuse it rears its ugly head again. I totally understand that sexual abuse never leaves a person, but it is incredibly frustrating from a viewers perspective seeing these same scenes being played out over, and over, and over again.
I echo Scrabbler's words that Babe is brilliant.

They ruined Phil in 2000 when Grant left. When Grant left Phil took over as the hardman. The hardman image did not suit Phil really, they even had him put on a bit of weight and wear his shirts untucked to make him look rough.
Yet again Max loses and Philth is again the Questionable "King" Of Albert Square again. The only real king was Dalton and even he was not invincible when Dennis shot him.

TPTB are obsessed with Philth. They couldn't live with the thought of someone besting him.
Max and Kat...the inevitable almost happened. Really glad it didn't escalate any further than the kiss on the one hand, yet disappointed that they actually kissed.
