Hopefully should be fairly obvious.
To discuss the episode that has just aired. No spoilers (unless hidden) even if you think they are common knowledge re actors leaving but speculation as to what might happen given on what we've seen on screen is fine.
We'll see what the volume of traffic is like before deciding if we should set up a weekly one or even for each episode.

Good idea KK!
I liked the Ronnie channelling of Kill Bill and the Babe Sylvie stuff. I like Vincent so far. Bored with Shirley stuff as I feel I've seen the same scenes for at least a year. But that blip aside a fair episode.

Another strong episode i thought. Comparing and contrasting stan and Jim's deaths (and their family's reactions) has been done very well i think. Both very flawed men that it seems pretty clear were pretty appalling husband's and father's when young/middle aged but mellowed and tried to make amends to a certain extent in later years. Stan, thought remaining cantenerous knew he was dying and so perhaps made more of an effort to reconnect. Jim has been unable to communicate for the past few years so couldn't really tell his children how sorry he was. Those that only knew him later in life have a very different perception of the man to others. I like that - it's real.
There was a danger the aftermath would let us down but it didn't. Babe is fascinating, as is Sylvie. I do not subscribe to the theory that she is in any way 'putting on' her Dementia but working out what is really her, what is the sickness and what now is the result of abuse from her Mum - well....
I have no clue what else went on in ramsgate or how stan knew (who is the only person that could have told Cora). Where does Queenie, heather's Mum fir in ffs? Sylvie can't possibly be Sylvie's, conceived then, she was older than Mick though younger than Shirley. I am interested though.
In a normal episode, ronnie/Roxy and kim/Denise would have been the highlights and they were good but the Carter stuff was better.
I even felt for shirley, a little when she was talking about Kevin and Jimbo. That was a cruel, cruel twist of fate that was totally out of her control and I understand her feeling guilty and going into self destruct. But she did and she is the architect of most of her misfortune, including destroying the sign yesterday which declared war rather than battle. Yet, she still plays the victim, saying she doesn't have a famiy.

What is Ronnie planning? She doesn't want Charlie to know she knows about the affair - that can only mean she's planning a slowburn revenge against him. Just chop his knob off. Should do the trick .

I like the juxtaposition between these two reviews!

I can't find much sympathy for Shirley. Yes she has had it harder than most, yes she had a miserable childhood and has a pretty pointless miserable existence now, but there is nothing to like about her, no redeeming qualities.
Shirley and Buster are well suited. I wish they would do us all a favour and find another caravan in Clacton or Ramsgate or where ever it is down Sowth and stay there taking Dean O with them. Nothing against Linda Henry who is a fine actor, but even she must get a bit fed up of playing the same scenes day in day out and having to play such a hard faced miserable cow. I am sure she longs for her scenes with Hev. I know I do!
I thought Sam Womack was excellent tonight. I love how she just under plays her scenes. Getting a bit fed up of the Carters, although it was nice to have a normal family scene with them. It is how they were when they first moved to the square. 7/10

It does make sense for Queenie to be involved, if Heather and Shirley were pals then its logical for her to be acquaintances with the family.
Given the times I wonder if Queenie and Babe did 'backstreet' abortions down there for unmarried girls?

I have seen this theory on DS too, it seems to have come out of the blue. i actually wonder if it could relate to Heathers dad. He went missing when Heather was a child and we never saw him again, did Queenie and Babe murder him and then disposed of the body?

Wow that would be an ace storyline to see, they could do a flashback scene and get Cheryl Fergison back in to play Queenie, with Maddy Hill (plus a little padding) to play Babe.

This time last year I was completely invested in the Carters dramas. Flash forward a year and it is the complete opposite. Kind of annoyed that they feel completely burned out after barely a year.
I'm loving Kim and Ronnie at present.

(supposed to be an evil laugh btw) Kim is being given some great material at the moment which is good to see and not being just a comedy character like she was with Birkwood/Newman

I'm actually enjoying Max vs Phil too. Can't say I'm invested in the Carters at all anymore, wither.

Never have I related to Kim so much in an episode. Yeah I agree, I actually thought she was fab tonight. I don't mind her being a colourful character, but I didn't like how we were meant to find her stupidity and alcohol dependence funny. Fortunately that seems to have been toned down since her return.
