I agree re Sharon's styling - it really doesn't look good but that said it is oddly in keeping with the character she now is.
I don't think middle aged women can't wear their hair long, mine is and i'm 44 and i do curl it for special occasions (though normally it is straight and often up). But never in a million years would i have it like Shirley Temple for a piggin funeral - what was she thinking? That wedding dress was an abomination too. Generally I hate the Miss Piggy nickname as i think bit is really insulting to Dean as well as Sharon but it was hard not to see the accuracy of it with that dress and hairstyle.
It is really, really upsetting to see Sharon reduced to this as somebody that grew up with her from the start and kind of saw her as a bit of a contemporary role model when a teenager. I could kind of accept it when she first came back and was a mess due to Dennis' death and tablet addiction but she is meant to be 'over' that by now. The idea she has just forgiven Phil and will put up with anything Phil throws at her - awful.
I agree with AP that Shirley having shot Phil wouldn't be treated as such a joke if the genders were reversed.
Though, that said, look at how they are blurring the lines with the rape, poor ickle Dean, his victims husband just won't let it go whilst his victim radates some kind of passive glow about it all.

I thought that episode was quite good. The show generally feels like it has more energy about it when the abundance of Carters aren't competing for screentime.

I think it's the repetition that's the big problem, not the characters themselves. Watching the same scenes over and over again gets boring. I have to say, I am really enjoying the Kat and Alfie scenes this week, looking forward to Kat and June W having a natter tomorrow night. This week seems to indicate that Easties is getting back on form.

The Carters would benefit massively if Dean left, finally getting his comeuppance, and Shirley and Buster left.
This has been the first time it feels that Kat is finally getting somewhere with her life. Far too long has she papered over the cracks which only acted a as band aid and this may finally give her the closure to move on from her abuse. I'm happy now for Kat and Alfie to get their happy ending.

A good episode. Excellent scenes with Max and Carol. Lindsey and Jake are superb. Jake under played the scene beautifully. It could have so easily been ott. Jessie and Shane also deserve a mention. No Carters apart from Lee.

I am glad most of us have the same opinion on Phil Mitchell, that he is a 50 something man with a weak heart who coughs and wheezes when he runs more than 5 metres. I think in fairness he still has some brawn if pushed but in all honesty he was a mainly nice guy before Grant left and the reason he turned nasty in 2000 was Grant betrayed him even when they both agreed to settle their differences over Sharongate a year before. Grant wrecked Phil's life and Phil lost Kathy, grant and Ben so it is no wonder he took his anger out on Lisa. Kathy was the love of his life. No excuse but you can understand it a bit, when Grant left, Phil was bitter and descended into crime when his life fell apart. No doubt that viewers who watched EE back then will probably notice this at the time.

Watching Max bawl like a baby in Carol's arms was very pleasurable . Hate Phil the playground bully, but Max deserved it. He should know if you mess with Phil he's going to hit back twice as hard. It would be nice if someone ruined Phil's life too, though. Shame Dirty Den is dead as he was the only man who could hurt Phil where it hurts.

This is the team that brought Kathy back so I guess anything is possible. I don't think it will be as jaw dropping as that but it wouldn't fair for me to give DTC the benefit of the doubt when he did give us a great 2014 and 30th anniversary.
I don't want to be *that* type of fan who criticises everything.

How does she know there are 'babies'? Slip of the tongue, has she been monitoring her years later or was Zoe a twin?

Lee is a thieving little Eartha Kit! Assuming it did belong to his Grandad then it probably belongs to Shirley now as the senior next of kin Imagine when she finds out Lee and Whitney have wasted it on a dirty weekend away Lee may be a soldier but my money would be on Shirley.
