Harriet Thorpe as Elaine, Colin Salmon as George and Elizabeth Counsell as Gloria superb tonight. Elizabeth Counsell a class act. Would that Dr not have admitted Jade into hospital? The Will and Avani scene was the only downside of a promising episode to start the week.

I know I shouldn't have but I felt a bit sorry for Gloria tonight. She sees George as her son and did her best for him in her own way but under the total influence of Eddie. I doubt we will see her or Eddie ever again now. Good scene between George and Elaine. I hope they don't split them up.
Dean just about shit his pants when Harvey told him a doctor was coming for a home visit. Making Jade lie about her condition to avoid going back to hospital was disgraceful. I hope she doesn't die and successfully gets to Pakistan to be with Shabnam.
Martin just did have to appear at that moment, lol! Necking another Branning!
Decent episode to start the week.

What is it with Stacey? She says she has to do the right thing but then keeps on telling Jack that it's not what she really wants but what she's having to do? She's infuriating. I reckon that without her saying that in the yard that kiss probably wouldn't have happened and Martin would never have walked in on such a scene (I love the way we're seeing their yards nowadays).
But now Martin knows I hope he sings like a canary.
It's hard not to feel sorry for Gloria, she just wanted a child to love but it was a selfish love. She went along with telling George he was of Jamaican heritage, obviously didn't matter as they're all black ain't they? Withheld letters from his mum, no, don't want him reminded of her I'M his mum and the only one he needs. Withheld that the dad came looking for him and asked her husband to make him go away. It was never about George and what was best for him but I suppose she at least kept the letters and didn't get rid of them. I find Gloria fascinating, old-fashioned and under Eddie's thumb but also able to stand up to him when she considers it really necessary. I wonder if that's the last we'll see of her?

That was some episode tonight, I just wasn't expecting that. I love night scenes in EE and that was one to remember. I might have to watch it again.

Well that was an explosive return for Martin Knew that when Chelsea was haranguing him but praising St Jack he wouldn't be able to keep his cool - and he didn't disappoint. Chelsea slapping Stacey Martin and Jack fighting (I'm telling myself that Martin hit the target more times than Jack lol!) Harvey being a brave man getting between them Stacey being well and truly shown up and even her daughter turning her back on her And Harvey's quiet 'your mum will be so disappointed' hitting the mark. So, so satisfying. Did Stacey really think she was making it better by saying something like she didn't mean to catch feelings? (or WTTE). The way Jack was pleading with Denise (and in front of Stacey) it looks to me that Stacey might love him (probably started when he became her hero during the Theo storyline TBH) but I think that possibly for Jack she was just a distraction while his marriage was on the rocks and he really loves Denise. Wouldn't be surprised if Stacey and Jack get together now though. Dean's killing his daughter so she doesn't go to Pakistan. The man is mad. No way the doc wouldn't have admitted her or at the least changed her meds no matter what she said about feeling better. That's the only fly in the ointment of an otherwise brilliant episode for me though.

A fairly decent follow up to Monday, Peter is not working now he is back, very lack lustre. I loved the Kathy reference sleeping with the two Mitchell brothers. I liked Jack's kids sticking up for Denise. It makes sense for Denise to move in with Chelsea.

Well done Amy & Ricky making Denise see some sense. Divorce it is then and I'm glad about that. I never liked Denise and Jack as a couple. No doubt he will be back with Stacey by this time next week. I wonder if he will pursue his investigation into Christmas night again.
Dean is the lowest of the low. He is going to put the blame well and truly on Jean, nothing surer. I hope we don't see her having a relapse.

It says something when your step-kids tell you not to take their dad back! Not because they hate her but because she's too good for him. It really got through when Amy said if a lad did this to me what would you be saying? (or WTTE). Dean should be locked up for the public's safety. Even his own daughter isn't safe from him And yes, you can just see it coming that he'll somehow find a way of blaming Jean for everything, including the tablets. Hopefully no one will believe him. Aww Stacey, diddums. Your own daughter doesn't want to speak to you - its called consequences. Enjoying watching everyone give her the side-eye And yes of course Jack's responsible too but she went into an affair with him knowing exactly why Denise wasn't coping and why her marriage was hitting the skids and knowing that him playing away wasn't going to help. That's pretty callous. He's just a tom-cat who every woman should avoid like the plague. He simply cannot keep it in his pants and shags sisters, mother and daughters, sister-in-laws, other grandparents. Ugh. Every time I see Bernie in that cafe knowing that her brother is just a few feet below her ... I wonder if the floor will fall in one day due to the the (presumably) structurally unsafe floor?

I did laugh at Stacey telling Jack that Max was better in bed. Liking Penny more now, the character works well with Lauren. The Priya scenes were good. Stand out performer tonight Gillian Wright. Not sure where this storyline is going to end, but Jean knows what Dean has done. One final thought why should Linda has any sympathy for Dean? or for that matter his daughter Jade.

Yeah Jean has sussed what Dean has done and like you Holey I don't know where this is going to lead. She's not as dolly dimple some of he time. Who though is looking after Stacey's kids with her drinking herself into oblivion, Jean in the hospital and Martin out with Priya?
How the hell did Penny into Peggy's in her wheelchair? Is there an imaginary lift that we don't know about or did someone bump her down the stairs and then just piss off? Oops I've just read she was in the imaginary goods lift that we've never heard of because we've seen only deliveries only arriving at the front door.
Where the hell is Nish?

I am wondering if Clenshaw is digging himself into a hole with this six storyline. I personally apart from the George storyline don't think 2024 has been as good as 2023 so far, but we are only into March.
Although I have been full of praise for Clenshaw, I would like to see a new broom move in after the 40th Birthday in February 2025.

I'm still enjoying The Six storyline and I'm hoping it will get better when Sharon returns. The only current storyline that is doing my head in is Dean.

Agree about Dean, I'll never understand bringing an unrepentant rapist back onto the square, not a wise decision IMO. The viewers aren't going to forget what he did and I honestly think you might have more chance of them forgiving a murderer. He's not rehabilitated at all. He's still nasty, sneaky and reckless and I for one am not finding him compelling at all even if Jean is great in their scenes. Jean's not daft but she is vulnerable so I'm quite uncomfortable watching them in scenes together knowing that he's going to find a way of stitching her up for everything he's done. Ugh. Stacey getting pissed wasn't a pretty sight. Her and Jack are now turning on each other so the chances of them getting together could be fading - good. I'm quite liking Penny, she's just the right side of feisty and almost makes Lauren bearable. I'm even warming towards Priya now she's not around Nish. She's too soft with Amira though (still can't stand that brat). Which reminds me, the way Honey went on about a vape! He's 16, thank your lucky stars that that's all he's up to
