I do like them but there are too many of them and they're overused (obviously) apart from Nancy and Lee who seem to be in scenes but never really have their own storylines.
We need more Sharon, Stacey, Ian, Jane, Masoods, Carol, Foxes, even Mitchells - although I'm happy with Darth Ronnie's screentime. Looking forward to the Dot trial conclusion too.

Also, why is Dean growing Chewbacca's pubes on his face? That beard is hideous! I dislike beards full stop

True. Saying that, I quite liked the Carters when they were first brought in, and I liked them right up until the rape s/l, which was where things started to take a ridiculous and very annoying turn. I had initially enjoyed their jokey, happy side and they seemed like a nice, normal, caring family, which was rare by EE's standards. Watching them interact with other characters, eg. Mick with Alfie during the fire s/l, was good. Shirley as Mick's mum didn't help. Then the misery started, and things just kept on getting worse. Now every other character is sidelined in favour of CarterEnders, and it's got to stop. Did you like episodes when Dean raped Linda and when Linda told the police what Dean did to her and Dean told Shirley his version of events? I don't thin the rape storyline was bad from the beginning.

I loved it when Dean raped Linda. I would like to add, however, that this was not because he raped Linda.

There has been a good mix of characters the last few weeks and once the horrible rape storyline ends, the carters can go back to how great they were initially Dean needs to be murdered slowly and painfully though

I would like to add, however, that this was not because he raped Linda. I liked it because the storyline was strong at the beginning. Now it's just terrible. (And when did you get promoted Mo? )

I was seriously angry to see his stupid face at the end.

Trouble is there has not been a good mix of characters since late 2013 though. As much as some may try and deny it saying there are plenty of non Carter storylines, they all somehow mix with Carter stories. I would say in the last year and a half 70% of all storylines has involved someone with the surname Carter.
It is like Emmerdale Farm years ago when it had the Sugden family as the main family. Well EE was never like that until the Carters.

Well EE was never like that until the Carters. There was the Branning overload lasting from late 2011-early 2013. Derek played the part of overbearing "head of the faaamily" just as Shirley is now. I marginally prefer the Carter overload to the Branning one, though I'm increasingly losing patience.
