For discussion on all our favourite and not so favourite movies and what we last saw at the cinema.
Last thing I saw was the Kingsman which I really enjoyed. I didn't think much of it when I saw the trailer but thought it was a funny and entertaining film.

Me again replying to one of your threads I'm afraid! :-)
I don't remember the last time I went to the cinema (!) but I hope nobody thinks less of me if I say the last film I watched (on Sky movies) was The Wedding Singer. Absolutely love it. Think because I love 80s music mainly :-)

Oooh! A movie thread! How did I not see this earlier?! My last cinema trip was to see Guardians Of The Galaxy because a friend was down to visit and he desperately wanted me to see it. I went into it completely indifferent but I actually thought it was a pretty alright film! I'm not heavily into the whole comic-book movie genre (although I love Sam Raimi's Spiderman stuff!). Oh and, Amber, I'm totally with you re love for 80s music!

I love Guardians of the Galaxy, went to the cinema three times to see it, have the DVD, the soundtrack, a gotg graphic novel and a hand knitted Groot. I am not a massive comic book movie fan but I generally go with my mates to see the marvel ones at the cinema.
I have seen the wedding singer but it was a lifetime ago. I am rubbish at remembering films if I have only watched it once.

Wow, you are a fan! A hand-knitted Groot? I'd love one of them! I did get overly attached to that adorable tree creature, I have to admit Took a liking to Chris Pratt too; which reminds me, I'm really intrigued to see what Jurassic World is going to be like.

Groot was awesome and I can't wait for the sequel. The most recent film I saw was Fast & Furious 7. Not going to lie, it was pretty emotional.

My mum knitted it for me Yeah I like Chris Pratt. Jurassic World,is going to be awful but I cannot wait. Might have to rematch the first three.

Like Scrabbler, I've not seen any of the F&F films but, IIRC, didn't one of the actors die before it was finished being made? Wow, you are a fan! A hand-knitted Groot? I'd love one of them! Yeah, the trailer for JW looks a bit 'out there' (trained raptors? WTH?) and my expectations aren't high, but I'm loyal to the franchise! Nothing will beat the first one though.

I actually really like 3, despite Tea Leoni being bloody annoying throughout It's The Lost World I don't really care for. I loved Dr Ian Malcolm in the first one, but I really disliked Julianne Moore's character (don't rate her acting in anything I've seen her in) and his kid was super irritating too.

Speaking of Julianne Moore, I actually really liked The Forgotten...that is, until this huge plot twist which pretty much ruined what could have been a great movie. As for Jurassic park, I agree about the kid in The Lost World being irritating beyond belief, but I was a fan of Ian Malcolm (and Jeff Goldblum in general) and missed him in JP3.

I've not seen The Forgotten, but a twist that ruins the film is intriguing... I may have to check that one out!
There seemed to be an unwritten (?) rule in the first three films that some characters had to appear in at least two.
Dr Grant and Ellie - 1 & 3 Ian Malcolm - 1 & 2 John Hammond - 1 & 2 Lex and Tim - 1 & 2, although their appearance in 2 was blink-and-you'll-miss it
(Now that I've written that down, it doesn't seem as often an occurrence as I originally thought!)
