Oh me too Lotty...... They wouldn't know a good thing if it kicked them in the face. hit-smileys Quality actors both of them given the right material. Going off SOC even before he makes his mark on EE.

I just don't get the decision wallis. They've proved they can be centre stage and maintain people's interest but most importantly they are bloody good actors, some of the best on the show IMO. The usual excuse is being made of them having run their course but, aside from the fact that they themselves boxed them in like this killing off Paul, it shows a big lack of imagination from TPTB IMO.
Yet Shakil who can't act to save his topknot is still stinking up the square free-rolleye-smileys-323

They seem so close off screen. Run their course....... We could say that about a lot of the characters such as Ronnie but they continue to get their wages each week, shocking!!!!!!

A mistake in my opinion.
Okay, they're not huge dominating characters so I can't see them being written out being brought up in years or decades to come like some characters (cough Pat, Cindy cough) as something that should never have happened, but I do think there was a place for them in the show as generally 'supporting' characters who get to shine in their own storylines once in a while.
Yes, they've boxed them in by killing Paul off but even with that, there was potential. What about Pam's background in Social Services? The relationship with Billy and his kids? They could have developed a bond with Ben and all that would mean with the Mitchell's.
I hope it isn't an indication that SOC is only interested in pretty, sexy young things.

Sam Womack (Ronnie) to leave EastEnders next year. GOOD! Best news I've heard all year. She is past her sell by date by far.

I'm glad Ronnie is going. She spent most of her adult life acquiring babies through a diverse range of means, then when she finally gets one turns into the biggest bore on the square.

Thank Gawd for that. Now if they can make sure she had a bonnet banged off her head and is then chucked in the boot, left there for a day or so while some raving loony comes and yells at the car and is then sent to the crusher I'll be a happy bunny.

Can someone explain to me how Samantha Womack has quit EE when in reality SOC has offered her a-too-good-to-refuse exit storyline? A spokesman for the BBC said 'it is time to rest the character'. Sounds like an axing with benefits to me.

Sounds like an axing with benefits to me. I am not sure she has quit as such, I don't think Sam has made an official statement yet, but reading between the lines I think SOC had decided the character had run its course and Sam liked the sound of her exit storyline. Sam will leave on good terms I am sure, I doubt she will be short of offers, when she left the show after the baby swap storyline she did a West End Musical, a couple of dramas and a series or two of mount pleasant. I think like Jo Joyner Sam will find roles. She was famous before coming into the Square under her maiden name Janus.

Ronnie is a mentally disturbed child kidnapper and I'll be glad when she's gone. It's our children that I fear for. And our children's children. One less psychopath means that we can all sleep safely in our beds. Thanks guys. God bless. Amen.
