And as an aside, there are still plenty of employers in the 'real world' who make life extremely difficult for any woman who dares to fall pregnant or has young children in a 'constrictive dismissal' type way. Although there are laws in place to protect, many employers do still try it on (things like not giving them back the same role they had prior to maternity leave, not being co-operative with time off for Hospital appointments or flexible working hours) so many just give up and resign. I have also been on interview panels where somebody has lodged objections to any woman in the 30s on the grounds that they probably have young kids or will want a baby soon. I've also had men tell me that they wouldn't have hired a particular woman because they had kids as it makes it more difficult for them to work late. All illegal of course but hard to prove. And I applaud each and every one of them.

Well either you're on a wind up or you are one of 'those' men
Don't get me wrong, having staff off for several months and needing to work 'to rule' due to issues with child care can make it difficult for colleagues - i've had to do extra, unpaid, hours loads of times to cover off a colleagues work because it needed to be done for a deadline and they couldn't stay back due to needing to collect children from school, child minders or the child being too sick to go to school. And believe me, as a woman, you are generally the one it is assumed 'won't mind' helping out due to female solidarity. It cam be really annoying and unfair as you don't get the 'favours' back.
But it is still no excuse for the treatment many women face over this issue.

I applaud anyone who stands up to those pathetic tools and makes life difficult for THEM by calling them out for the scum that they are.

The important thing is how hot MyLauren looked throughout her return. Very, very hot.
Thanks.

The only thing that makes life difficult for THEM, is having to employ women who bugger off for 9 months paid holiday and jeopardise small business owners up and down the land. Here come the drums.....

Here come the drums..... Hmm, it's not a holiday, nobody is on full pay for the entire 9 months and employers are able to claim most of it back from the government so.... It is an inconvenience, and Yesn if unable to cover the work off in house there is expense in taking on temporary staff but employers are not actually having to pay for two members of staff doing the same job.

I've no problem whatsoever with women in the work place, indeed I'd even argue they brighten up the mundane days with their low-cut tops and heaving bosoms. You do need to ensure their tasks involve a fair bit of bending over though.
I also find women in the work place respond well to a kind word and a playful smack or pinch on the bottom.
They're also very handy for making cups of tea.

You see it's when I read things like this, that highlight the benefits of having women in the workplace, I sometimes feel that some of my earlier comments are a little harsh.

I complained to HR about it in fact, told them that I shouldn't have to work in these conditions, having to drink that rubbish like... and somehow *I'm* the one that ends up with a disciplinary?! Frankly, I'm sick of the institutionalised discrimination against young, straight, white males in the workplace. Especially the good looking ones like us.

Here come the drums..... Are you saying women shouldn't have babies at all? No, he (i assume he) is not saying that. More that women should choose between working and having children as it is not fair to employers to 'subsidise' women during pregnancy and when they might need reduced or flexible working hours when their children are young. Don't worry about it MG, he is entitled to his opinion (everybody is) but it is unlikely to influence anybody that also holds firm beliefs about women being able (and right) to do both.

But lots of women who work have children and plus they need the money so they shouldn't be sacked when they go on maternity leave especially if their partner cheats on them and they weren't expecting to be a single mum or their husband/fiance/boyfriend dies. My personal assistant is on maternity leave and even though its hard because I don't have set days for people to work with me on but its ok and she is coming back next year in May because she needs the money especially with 3 kids and her first two are at School.

Mormon girl, really don't worry - you don't need to plead a case here. Of course many women need, or just want to work during pregnancy or when their children are young.
There are laws in place to protect maternity leave and working mothers and most people see the sense (and fairness) in them.
But you need to accept that some people won't agree and dislike these rules and they are entitled to their opinions. Just let them have them and don't try to change them. Accept you won't, anymore than they will change yours on the subject.
