Yeah I read that earlier today. The sooner they get back to their normal time slots the better and produce 30 minute episodes. Mind you Corrie & ED aren't actually on for a full 30 minutes themselves what with the annoying advert breaks.

EE has never broadcast a 30 min episode. But I would argue even before the pandemic they had got a tad shorter as the Beeb often play trailers before and after the show.

Jon Sen is leaving EE in December and being replaced by Chris Clenshaw in January. Hurrah! Chris has worked on EE in the past as a storyliner as well as some other positions.

If EE was in a good place, it would not be so bad, but as it stands it is a huge blow to the show, saying that I have felt Mick has not fitted into the show for a while, i can't put my finger on it, perhaps it is the writing and the direction they have gone with the character.
You could say if EE can survive Anita Dobson leaving then they can survive anything. When he does leave, they should not have him back as a regular, unless there was a real need like a death in the Carter family or a wedding. I would have Mick find out about Gray killing Tina and then Mick kills Gray and goes on the run. If Kellie decides to call it a day perhaps we could have a happy ending for them both.
It is a chance for the new producer to reinvent the Vic. If this were real life the Vic would be turned into apartments, now there's a thought.

I agree it won't happen and we don't want too much real life. I am sad I know but I have been thinking how it could work with the Vic. If Mick and Linda leave the square to start a new life and a fresh start, they could re sell the pub to Sharon, who could then have Zack as head chef, Martin and Stacey as bar staff, along with Tracey and maybe Frankie. It did not work with Sharon last time round but could see it working this time without Ian in the picture. Nancy could be made manager of the Gym and Shirley could be good old Shirl snarling at everyone.

Knowing our luck, Philth will buy it and have another finger in a pie, and the vile Kat will be the landlady and lord it over everyone.

Danny Dyer's given the soap longer than I thought he would TBH, when he joined I gave him 5 years max. He admitted he was on the bones of his arse before EE headhunted him, he was very grateful and his career has been rejuvenated by his stint. On the whole Mick has been a good character who I've liked and I'll probably miss him (time will tell) but like Walls I'd like to see some new blood in the Vic. A dark, mysterious, handsome fella in the line of Dirty Den/David Wicks I reckon, I want someone to purv over Though I won't mind if the rest of the Carters stay there either but they had better bring back one or both of their sons to beef out the males in the family.

There is a lot riding on the new producer Chris Clenshaw.

I just read the news. So Danny Boy's finally leaving EE, eh? He stayed longer than I thought he would! Fair play to him. He had a good run on the show. I was never particularly crazy about Mick as a character, but he had some good moments. Now the question is... what's gonna happen to Lindaaaa? Couldn't imagine Mick leaving Walford without his Lindaaaa!! it just seems unthinkable to me.
