The canon has firmly established Mick as a weak man whose head is easily turned by a sexy but persuasive female so I don’t automatically envision him walking off into the sunset with Linda and the baby that “probably ain’t his” however Eastenders does have solid history of men bringing up other peoples kids so he may well buckle down and just bring Annie up.
If they wanted a nice ending, they should send them up to Watford to run Elaine’s pub with her emigrating to Spain with some teenage boyfriend in tow!
As for who gets the Vic, Eastenders has a rich history in making us all wait to see who gets it next. I personally think it would be boring for the likes of Sharon or Phil or Kat to get it again.

Phil stayed on as a character after Grant left but they tacked all of Grant's psycho nature onto Phil as a result.
Pauline survived without Arthur so I wonder if "L" will survive without Mick if he leaves without L.

Regarding who gets control of the Queen Vic I'd like to see them throw everything they have at June Brown to come back with Dot as landlady. What 95 year old woman doesn't dream of buying a pub.

It is ten years since Simon Wicks made his cameo on the show.

This has been hotly discussed on the Facebook pages and whilst shows do recast roles, it’s ultra rare for the original actor/actress to come back and take over, unless it’s only a temporary thing for illness (see Aussie soaps) one person has remembered it happening once before. Lucy Collins in Brookside was originally played by the late Katrin Cartlidge when the show launched in 1982, when the character returned in the mid 80s she was played by Maggie Saunders but for the exit storyline for the family, it went back to Katrin. Possibly because the reason for the storyline was enforced by the sad demise of Doreen Sloane aged just 56 from cancer, and perhaps Katrin had asked to come back specially as a dedication to Doreen.
The only other one I can think of is Wendy Jane Walker who played Susan Barlow as a child and then returned to play her as a young adult.

So Eastenders is going to be up against ED? Yikes.

Brave move. I might hate it but quite a few people are watching the tedious interminable Meena storyline and have Easties got anything to beat that right now?

Emmerdale should easily win the ratings on the overnights, but EastEnders might claw a little back with iplayer. The schedule is neater for EastEnders Monday-Thursday at 7:30 and better to go against Emmerdale than Corrie. If EastEnders sinks in the ratings, they could move to 7:pm?
