*Hesitantly starts a topic thread*
I just thought this might be a good place to discuss vintage tele we like
Are there any DVDs/boxsets you never tire of?
Do you wish they'd repeat something?
Are there any good repeats of old shows you're currently avoiding 'new' tele to watch?
Do you get your sitcom fix thanks to the BBC2 afternoon schedule?
Is new Poldark better than old Poldark?
Chat about it and more here!

It ain't what it use to be!
I think there are a real lack of family shows these days, It seems that a lot of tv shows for kids these days end up being really dumbed down and stupid. When I was a kid there seemed to be a lot,of good dramas aimed at everyone in the family such as My Uncle Sils and Goodnight Mr Tom. Especially Sunday afternoons on the BBC when they did shows such as the Borrowers. We would often sit round as a family and watch these sort of shows. Now most of the telly is reality shows. You can get the odd good series but usually the first series is good and after that it goes downhill.

I was born in 1982 and grew up with Raggy Dolls, Sooty and co and Button Moon, simple shows which did not encourage you to dress up as Cheryl Cole by the age of 8. I can remember Emmerdale when it was a Farm and the 1980s Neighbours mania.

Yeah I remember paying to watch Neighbours in primary school at lunchtime!

My earliest Neighbours memory was the fearsome Max Ramsay. Dark curly hair, tall and shouty. Scared me to death when I was 4.

Foyles War Rosemary and Thyme
I don't think they make many like that any more. Holby maybe.

Does anyone know if Citizen Smith is ever on anywhere? I originally watched it when it was repeated in early 90s and found it funny but probably didn't understand the political slant as I was only about 12 I think!
