Keeper of the Matrix.
Wondered if that was a Who reference - guessing it is.
Lot of those shows i have too, tenko, Morse, Spooks, Peculair Practice, Mr Benn amongst many.
I have By the Sword Divided as enjoyed it when it first aired but found it a little disappointing on rewatching. Might try it again though.
Poldark does start slowly but picks up quite quickly. Compared to 'The Pallisers' it is like Mo Farrar!

I've been really enjoying the BBC2 afternoon repeats - despite the somewhat baffling order they've shown HiDeHi in. Just Good Friends starts on Monday which is an all time fave of mine. I waas 12 when it started, taped it then (on Betamax) and watched it again and again. I think I still know it off by heart and have got the DVDS since. Other sitcoms which i will happily watch over constantly are Yes Minister, YPM, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads and The Good Life Sci Fi, doctor Who (of course), Blakes 7, The Avengers, The prisoner, Star Trek and though it seems odd to include 90s shows, Ultraviolet, Twin Peaks, Babylon 5 and especially Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel Soaps - got all of Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing, and most of Sons and Daughters and watch all reguarly. I have some Santa Barbara (wish i had more) - a real guilty pleasure. Also Casualty upto (he late 90s and several seasons of Holby City. Drama, drama, Edge of Darknessn Bird of Pray, Upstairs, downstairs, West wing, Secret army (just finishing that again), Kessler, dennis Potter shows, 6 wives of Henry 8th, Edward VII, Edward and Mrs Simpson Really loads of stuff, i've only scratched the surface!, My dvd collection is extensive to say the least! I remember watching Just Good Friends as a young child. Would be nice to see it again. Love The Good Life too, pretty sure Tom, Barbara, Margot and Jerry were into swinging. For me, I love sitcoms such as only fools and horses, one foot in the grave, vicar of Dibley, 2.4 children, the upper hand and goodnight sweetheart. Oh the Goods and Ledbetter were soooo wife swapping. There's that episode where they all get drunk and subtext is teetering so close to becoming text! I did like Only Fools but just feel it is over rated compared to Sullivan's other work. Citizen Smith is getting a repeat somewhere too, Drana I think.

There was so much sexual tension between Margo and Tom. I really liked Richard Briers as an actor, he could do sinister drama and comedy. i have never seen Citizen Smith, so may check that out too

For me it was the X-Files. I was addicted from the off and had a huge crush on David Duchovny. I have all the episodes on DVD. The films were a bit a pants though and the last series was horrendous when they brought in new people and not much Mulder . But I am happy to hear its back for 6 episodes. Keeping with Sci Fi I loved Ultra Violet (not the crappy film but the mini series). I am not a fan of vampire shows (especially these days) but this was told from a clever rather scientific way which often had you questioning who really was the bad guys as it progressed and I loved how despite it being a vampire show it never once used the word "vampire". Only 6 episodes but I really wish they had done more.
Kids show I really liked was Knightmare the one with dodgy blue screen animations and kids guiding another kid blindfolded by a helmet over his head.

Yes, that's a DW reference ~ well spotted.
I do think your tastes can change over time and, obviously, programmes and films age as well.
Saw The Professionals when it originally aired and enjoyed it. Saw The New Avengers which was made by the same team in the 198os when they repeated it on BBC2 and enjoyed it.
Ended up getting both of them on DVD and enjoyed The Professionals as much as I had when I originally saw it. My opinion of The New Avengers however had shifted and I didn't enjoy it as much as I did when I saw it in the 80s.

I have 'Love Actually' on DVD too. I`m enjoying watching 'All Saints' and 'Cagney and Lacey' on Hulu. Both excellent dramas.

Yeah The New Avengers isn't half as much fun as The Avengers. I'm a Mrs Peel man and always will be *nods* Though Purdey is lovely! The 1st series of The New Avengers was OK, the second terrible.
Speaking of Richard Briers....anyone remember The Other One, the sitcom The Good Life writers Esmonde and Larbey wrote for him and Michael Gambon in the 70s? They did 2 series, but only the 1st one has been released on DVD. Briers plays a deeply unlikeable know all but gradually during the course of the first series you get to see his tragic side beneath the show off exterior. Gambon played an amusing harmless dullard type he met on a package holiday.

Oh i know my Who!
I'm of the age that saw The New Avengers first although my memory of it from first time is hazy. I knew who they were, had a 'sense' of the it if that makes sense and specific set pieces stayed in my mind, like the shooting range sequences and deserted London in 'Sleepr'. When i got to see it properly in the 80s i'd remember bits clearly. Then I saw original 80s for the first time when Ch 4 started so Emma Peel onwards.
Into the Labyrinth I don't remember seeing since the late 70s although I'm sure somebody i know must have the DVD. My brother loves vintage tele as well and has an enormous collection, probably 4 times the size of mine and mine is large. To be fair he is a Journalist and used to edit cult and Science Fiction/telefantasy magazines so he rather needed a lot of stuff for work plus of course would get check disc's to review.

Citizen Smith isn't quite as 'polished' as Sullivan's later work but still worth a watch. Lindsay, Vaughn and Grief are always good value.
Ultraviolet was a wonderful programme. I have no idea why it didn't get a second series - everything was set up for it.

As I said, I saw The New Avengers in the 80s then got the DVD when it was resissued a few years back. I don't think the series has aged any more than The Professionals has but obviously my opinion on it has changed over time whereas with my opinion on The Professionals has remained the same. That's part of the reason why I don't think you can state an opinion on missing episodes of The Avengers / Doctor Who or any other show because:- i) You're not in a position to judge how much they have aged or not ii) You're relying on a memory of something you probably saw once over 30 years ago and your opinion may well have changed since then. I did see most of The Avengers when Channel 4 repeated it (in the 90s I think). They started with Diana Rigg and went all the way to the final Linda Thorson episode. I haven't seen any of the Ian Hendry or Honor Blackman episodes.

My Classic Who collection is almost complete DVD wise. I still need to get The Enemy Of The World and The Moonbase, I think. Met Bob Baker at a DW convention last year and he said that he would have been happy to do a fourth series of Into The Labyrinth but the set guys on the series destroyed the sets after the third series was completed and the company wouldn't fork out for replacements.
Although I saw The New Avengers in the 80s a lot of detail had faded from my memory by the time I got the series on DVD. Sleeper was probably the story that had stuck in my brain for some reason, probably because it's a bit different to most of the other stories.

ITV 3 run some lovely old series which I watch avidly. Where The Heart Is The Royal Doc Martin (love Martin ClunesI would watch others on other channels if they weren't two hours long. Foyles War Rosemary and Thyme I don't think they make many like that any more. Holby maybe. Foyles War for me was the best Drama on TV. I still watch the re runs on Saturday night on itv3. It makes me want to move to Hastings. Foyles War is the only decent thing on apart from Dad's Army.
