Seem to be a few people on here that share my love of the shows so thought I'd start up a place to discuss.

Woohoo fabulous idea KitKat! Love Buffy, best tv show ever IMO! I've just started watching I'm currently re-watching season 6, up to Bargaining part 2 so far!
Anybody do any collecting?

I never bothered with Angel, he always got on my nerves.
I watched the series when it first came out but I gave upon the show when Dawn turned up. However I did back into the show a couple of years ago and managed to get to the end.

Wooo! A Buffy thread! I could spend my life talking about that show so I'll have to exercise a bit of self-control otherwise I'll be spamming this like I'm spamming the music thread... I remember, many moons ago, showing a few episodes to my best mate (he'd spent a while making me watch a load of Dr Who episodes so it was his turn to return the favour!) and his response was "Yeah, it's alright" and that was that. Now I'm currently trying to get his GF into it because she says that she's looking for a new show to watch and I, naturally, told her BTVS was amazing and she needs to watch it ASAP. The last time I saw her she had Netflix up and asked me choose a Buffy ep for her to watch so I put on School Hard because A) There aren't any major spoilers in it and B) Spike! She seemed to enjoy it and is definitely open to watching more so I'm making it my mission to be her Buffy Yoda However, I got a little bit carried away talking about the show and unintentionally dropped a S2 spoiler into the conversation

Buffy thread! Hurrah! I preferred Buffy to Angel, although my appreciation for the latter grew after the introduction of the awesome character that was Spike. IMO the best character by far in the whole Buffyverse. I did feel sorry for Xander when, midway through the series, he started to get sidelined as all of his mates began developing all these amazing powers, so I get why he liked seeing Spike chipped and defenceless, but I did miss Spike's comedic "I am going to kill you" lines.

Poor Xander he could be a spare part at times, but I liked the fact there was a member of the Scooby gang who was "normal".
Willow probably has to be my fave character though, she was kooky and fun. I also have a soft spot for Giles.

I also have a soft spot for Giles. Willow and Tara were a brilliant couple and I'll never forgive Whedon for killing Tara off! Everybody did get on my nerves during the "Us vs Buffy" argument resulting in Buffy leaving the house. I understood their fears but they all, including Giles who I normally liked, came across really badly. Dawn grew on me later on, she was really annoying at the beginning. Ditto for...Kennedy, was it? The Potential Slayer who was anti-Buffy for no reason.

Take note, EE, this is how it's done!

Yeah I liked Tara and Willow together, I think Whedon himself said somewhere that it was a mistake killing her off.

Take note, EE, this is how it's done! Yeah he had charm, was attractive and was funny. Spike was everything Angel was not, thank god!

I don't know what JW was thinking when he put her with Willow because it was just wrong on pretty much every level. Not only was it way too fast after Tara, they had zero chemistry!! The least said about Dawn the better too, although she was bearable in S7 - mainly because she barely did anything.

I totally get what you're saying about Willow and Kennedy! Why would Willow, one of the best, kindest, most badass characters ever want to date that annoying pain in the neck that was Kennedy? It just made no sense...
I also liked the Spike vs Angel fight in Angel, where Spike just destroyed Angel by pointing out that while Angel had a soul forced upon him, Spike actually sought to get his back. I did like Angel to an extent but he didn't have Spike's charm. And he was a self-righteous prat most of the time.

It just made no sense... Especially considering how arrogant and in-your-face Kennedy was; Oz and Tara were the total opposite, that's why they worked so well with Willow. The Killer In Me is one of my most hated episodes solely because they were trying to push Kennedy/Willow on the fans when Tara's absence was still pretty raw. "What are you doing?"/"Bringing you back to life" has to be one of the most exchanges ever because the pairing just DID NOT WORK!!

I wish Willow had rejected her and Kennedy walked away, never to be seen again. I missed having Oz around, not as Willow's boyfriend, but as a comic character. I liked the werewolf in a cage subplot, where they'd just walk around, making jokes and pretending there wasn't a werewolf waiting to eat them if it got the chance
